Mustangs Seniors split with Academy

March 22, 2017

The Doncaster Mustangs senior team have today announced a split with the Doncaster Mustangs Academy.

The junior team has represented Doncaster in previous years at both the 14-17 and 16-19 age groups, but after a gradual breakdown in the relationship, the management and coaches of the senior side decided there was no further option but to sever all ties.

Mustangs on the move

Feb. 3, 2017

Doncaster Mustangs are on the move. After 10 seasons at the Keepmoat Stadium, the club has taken the decision to relocate to the other side of town. From January the club will train and play at Wheatley Hills Rugby Club.

Whilst the facility remains one of the best in the League, off field issues have meant the club took the difficult decison to cut the ties.

"We've enjoyed a great 10 years here. But over the last couple of years, actually staging a game has become a bit of a nightmare. We acknowledge that we are only a small customer, but since the Council relinquished the running of the Stadium, we've seen the level of Customer Service drop to virtually zero. It's a shame, but we have had enough"

Mark Blyth, GM

So now a new era begins just off York Road. The team will train and play their games at the Brunel Road ground from January.

"It's nice to feel welcomed by WHRUFC. There is a proer sense of 'family' here and it's a great feeling. We are really looking forward to the coming season and beyond. And it will also be nice to finally have somewhere to have a drink and socialise after a game"

Mark Blyth, GM

The Mustangs season will commence in April. The club is always looking for new players. Practice is from 10am every Sunday.

The Mustangs held a minutes silence before today's game to remember Celia McLean, wife of former HC Doug McLean who sadly passed away this off season. Celia is sadly missed by everyone at the club.
